We want to be completely open about how this site makes money, so that you can read our articles knowing exactly where we stand. In short: when you buy from LR or register with LR through our buttons, LR pays us. You pay the same price as you would otherwise.
We are not a shop
The name Aloe Vera Shop might suggest otherwise, but we do not sell anything. There is no basket and no checkout here, we never take payment from you and you do not enter into a contract of sale with us. This is an information site. Every purchase is a contract between you and the LR Health & Beauty company that runs the official LR online shop for Great Britain, which is responsible for payment, delivery, invoicing, returns and customer service under the LR shop terms.
How we earn money
We are independent partners of LR Health & Beauty. Our product pages have a button that takes you to the same product in the LR shop with our partner code. If you then buy something, as a guest or after registering, or if you register with LR as a partner through our link, LR credits commission or bonus points to us, paid to our company in Bulgaria.
- The price is the same. The price in the LR shop does not change because you came from our site, and you pay nothing extra.
- The last link counts. LR assigns a customer to the partner whose link was opened last.
- Two partners, taking turns. We are two partners, Angel Matsanov and Nikoleta Genova. The buttons alternate between our two partner codes on each click. Nothing is stored on your device for this.
This is the site’s only source of income. Nobody else pays us for reviews or for mentioning a product.
How we label our links
UK rules require marketing to be obviously identifiable as marketing. The CAP Code, applied by the Advertising Standards Authority, says that marketing must be clearly identifiable and that the commercial intent must be made clear. The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, enforced by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), prohibits unfair commercial practices, including promoting a product in editorial content without making it clear that the trader has paid for that promotion. Following these rules and the CMA’s guidance on online endorsements, this is how links work on our site:
| Where | Where the link goes | How it is labelled |
|---|---|---|
| Links in our articles | Our own product pages on this site | A short note at the top of every article that mentions products |
| Buttons on our product pages | The product in the official LR shop, with our partner code | The button says it leads to the official LR shop, with a note next to it that the order is placed with LR and that we earn commission |
| All links to the LR shop | The official LR shop | Marked as sponsored and nofollow for search engines |
So when you click a product in an article, you first land on our own page about it. Only the button on that page takes you to LR.
Our relationship with LR
We are not LR Health & Beauty, we are not its employees and we are not its agent, so we cannot make statements or agreements on LR’s behalf. LR does not commission, check or approve our texts. We decide ourselves what we write, which products we compare and what we point out as a drawback. Our rules for this are in our editorial policy.
Why we tell you this
Because you should know who benefits when you click a button, and because a recommendation is only worth something if it is honest. If anything about this page is unclear, please ask us.
